Our first visit to the Bear Glacier which is between Stewart, B.C. and Meziadin Junction was in 1978 and life was very different then. 40 years ago we had 3 kids, 4, 3 and 1 and were camping in a Starcraft tent trailer. The Bear Glacier was very different, as well, as can be seen in the second and third photos. Who doesn’t believe in global warming?
The top photo was taken in Sept. 2018 and the next two were taken in Aug. 1978; at that time the glacier flowed into the lake, while, today, it stops short of the lake. It also looks like it is much less dense than it was 40 years ago.
If I was being totally fair, I guess I’d post photos of myself then and now because 40 years has made a significant difference in my appearance, as well!
